Dear younger me,
I wish I could hold you for a moment and tell you none of this was supposed to happen to you. I know you’re confused. I know you’re trying to be strong while carrying pain that nobody sees. I know you learned survival before you ever got the chance to just be a little girl.
You smile sometimes, but deep down you feel abandoned, angry, and misunderstood. You keep asking yourself why life feels so heavy, why love feels painful, and why safety always seems so far away. I wish I could tell you that none of what happened defines your worth.
I know you’re going to make mistakes. I know you’re going to search for love in broken places, trust people you shouldn’t, and harden yourself just to survive. You’re going to wear strength like armor because softness won’t feel safe. And sometimes… you’ll feel invisible…
